Thank you for purchasing DoStudio Encoder 4.0 software. This document contains information about installing and using DoStudio Encoder on your computer.

Notable fixes/changes in version 4.0.9
Playing back 23.976 frame rate files now displays the correct timecode.
 
3.0 Known Issues

When using the DoStudio Encoder trial version, encoding is limited to approximately two minutes. When rendering longer video source material, encoding will stop at approximately two minutes, and the encoder log file will indicate that the encode has failed.

The abbreviated encoded file will be saved as an .avc file using the same folder and base name as the original media file.

 
4.0 System Requirements
The following lists the minimum system requirements for using DoStudio Encoder software:
  • Microsoft® Windows® XP, Windows Vista™, Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit), or Windows 8
  • 2.6 GHz dual quad-core processor
  • 250 GB system hard drive with second 1 TB hard drive
  • 6 GB RAM
  • Supported NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel graphics card
    • NVIDIA GT 21x or higher
    • NVIDIA GeForce 8600 or higher
    • ATI Radeon HD 5000 or higher
    • ATI Radeon HD 4000 or higher
    • Intel G45 or higher
  • Supported BD-R/-RE drive (2X or faster)
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5
Apple Mac Pro System Requirements
  • Mac Pro (Early 2009) or later running Windows in Boot Camp (virtual machines are not supported)
  • 640 GB system hard drive and second 1 TB hard drive
  • 6 GB RAM
For 3D playback using active shutter glasses
  • CyberLink PowerDVD 10 or ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre 3
  • NVIDIA GeForce 3D Vision Kit
  • NVIDIA GeForce 3D-compatible graphics card
  • Acer 3D-capable screen with active shutter glasses
  • Interleaved MVC stream or 3D Blu-ray Disc folder
5.0 Installation
The install utility creates any necessary folders and copies all files required by DoStudio Encoder and Sony Smart Support software to your computer.
  1. Download the install utility from our website.
  2. Double-click the file, and then follow the on-screen prompts to install the appropriate versions of DoStudio Encoder and Sony Smart Support for your computer.
6.0 DoStudio Encoder User Manual
Included on the DoStudio Encoder application disc is a complete DoStudio Encoder User Manual in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format. The Acrobat format allows easy printing of the text, should you need a hard copy. The manual is installed with the software and is available from the Start menu.

In order to view the manual, you will need to install Adobe Reader. You can download the latest version of Adobe Reader from http://get.adobe.com/reader/.

You can purchase a printed copy of the manual from Lulu.
